My little rodolex ;-)

Hello, I've been in HK for one year and have settled a rule: Each time me or one of my guests (we just had a baby so had quite a lot of guests... ) finds a restaurant, he/she gives me the card and comments on it. Then I test (if the comments are ++ of course) and keep the card or not. So fare I'm pretty happy of my "roddolex"...

Best in SoHo / Rest of the Best : Shui Hu Ju (excellent chinese price with one bottle of wine for 2 ans loooots of excellent food: ~1000 HK$

Best in Causeway Bay: Modern China Restaurant 10th floor of Time square for 2 with beer & sodas with loooots of food: 500 HK$ maximum

Best in Quarry Bay / Best Dim Sum: East Ocean - Victoria City Restaurant (not a nice deco but exxxxxxcellent Dim Sum, in fact the best I've eaten so far in HK) for 2 with beer & sodas: ~ 500 HK$

Best Hotel Restaurants: The Grand Hyatt Grill, on the border of the pool, in front of the sea, great place, good food. For 2 without alcohol (never looked at the prices there, sorry...): ~600HK$

Best Thai Restaurant: Soho Spice, don't remember the price but very reasonnable, good welcome & there if even a patio at the back very nice all time of the year.

Best Pizza: The delivery one: Pizza Express on Mosque Street, thin & crispy

Don't hesitate to ask me for the numbers & enjoy,
Alexandra

For me:

1. Life in Soho is good for healthy vege. The food is very tasty (i.e. definitely not boring vege). Also has some good German beer. Near Pure gym on Mid-Levl esc (just above Hollywood Rd).

2. Assaf Restaurant in Lyndhurst Tce, near HSBC and intersection with Hollywood Rd. Good Turkish/Med (I think). Lovely Hummus, kebab. Healthy food and reasonably priced.

3. Good Indian restaurant/cafe on Mosque St (turn right on Mosque St going uphill on Mid-Level esc). Seems to be good South Indian. The Masala Dosa is unbelievable!!! Quite inexpensive too.

4. Good Italian near Staunton's on same side of road (next to Nepali restaurant). The steak is good and cooked very well. The service is excellent.

Mat.

Anyone been to a restaurant called 'Hutang' before? It was recommended as a good Chinese restaurant. I have a couple of business guests coming to HK tomorrow and thought of taking them to this place. Anyone know where it is?

Hi Alexandra,

Do you have the address and phone number of this restaurant? I'm always on the look out for good dim sum restaurants.

Thanks
