Head to Fortress. They have a wide variety once it gets cold. My advice--buy one good enough for one room. You don't spend that much time moving around such that it is worth it ($$) to heat the whole house

Get in quick too... there'll be a mass stampede the first day it gets really cold and you could find them all sold out.

I'd recommend taking a second to review what it is you are going to heat and what the size is of that room. There are mathematical formulas to help you determine the best size heater. http://www.sustainable-energy.vic.go...ing/sizing.asp http://www.eere.energy.gov/consumer/.../mytopic=12600 The price between a big and a bigger heater is not that much, but it can make $100s per month in electrical costs (if not more). And never use an extension cord for a space heater.

We were recommended an oil radiator for the bedroom (slow to warm up but can be left on overnight) and a ceramic/ fan heater for the living area (they warm up almost instantly). Seemed sensible to me and we bought both from Fortress - delivered 2 days later. Note the ceramic one (black/ silver tower shape) has an i/r remote so I can integrate it onto my Pronto all-in-one... switch on the telly, start the DVD, dim the lights and turn up the heat with one click (sad I know
