I am looking to fly Kathmandu-HKG in May next year, as the last leg of my journey
HKG-Chengdu (flight)
Chengdu-Lhasa (flight)
Lhasa-Kathmandu (overland)
Kathmandu-HKG (flight)

it seems that all flights in/out of KTM from over here are not frequent and quite expensive (Royal Nepal direct and Thai Airways via BKK). Can someone recommend a clever way to fly between KTM and HKG? thanks

there are no cheap ways to do this (I have done this before).

Best thing to do is probably get a cheap domestic flight (indian air or something) to dehli and fly out of there. Flying direct out of katmandu is quite pricey.

I have just been to India last week and noticed that a number of the Indian domestic carriers fly to Nepal. Try Jet Airways or Air Sahara.

You could fly from Nepal to New Delhi or Mumbai and then there are plenty of connections from either of these cities to HK.

You can book both Jet and Sahara tickets on the web.

How about connecting on Thai Airways from Bangkok? You can do HK-BKK-KTM.

flying via Delhi would have been a good idea if the flights Delhi-HKG would have not been so damn expensive - over USD500 for one way in May 2006! i'd better book direct flight from KTM which cost as much... unless you know a cheaper way to fly Delhi (or Mumbai) - HKG!

yep bagel you can and you pay the same as for direct flight KTM-HKG (a lot). I guess they keep prices high because there aren't many flight options on this route!
