Hi wahansa!
From Aegean Coast to central (at woking hours) the fastest way is to take the shuttle bus from the building in the morning. It takes about 35/40 minutes. To come back there is no shuttle bus so you need to take public bus 962, 962B, 962X and it takes around 45 mn. If you wish to take the light rail, you can take a minibus to Tuen Mun (5mn) and then from there pick up the Light Rail or the KCR.

Thanks so much Mat! Sounds good. And just one more question: how long does it take to go from Tuen Mun to Kowloon via Light Rail or KCR?

You should note you can get off of all Citybus 962's on the Kowloon side as well, at MTR Kowloon Station in about 30 mins. then a minibus to TST or walk in about 15-20 mins. Or take KMB 52X from Aegean Coast to Cheung Sha Wan in Kowloon in about 35 mins. then a bus onward to TST (there are lots!). And I think Mat was referring to 962N as the night bus, since 962X runs on Tuen Mun Road and won't come close to Aegean Coast.

Light Rail will not get you to Kowloon....it is a rail system for Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai only. It is very slow (you can run faster than the train often!)

KCR West Rail from Tuen Mun is slower than MTR, and it swings north into the NT first so it may be slower overall than bus. And it doesn't link up with East Rail to TST, so you have to get off in Mei Foo and switch to MTR/bus or Nam Cheong and again switch to bus to get to TST.

I'd avoid the whole hassle and stick with the bus. If you luck out and get a F1 racer wannabe for a driver, its alot faster than KCR.

Check out www.ypmap.com, www.citybus.com.hk, and www.kmb.com.hk for more detailed routes and approx. times.

I would like to suggest, you take the place which is near to your kids school. I understand that you like to get admission in ESF. I recommend to live at Baguio Villa near Pokfulam opposite cyberport. Rent may be around 20k for two bedroom. Central is a 35min by bus/minibus.
Good luck.

A guy from my work has just moved this weekend with his family and dog from Discovery Bay to the Gold Coast so be sure to check out the rules arounfdthe Gold Coast for yourself if you are still considering it because dogs must be permitted in some places. Last week (prior to the move) he was raving about the place and all it had to offer, haven't spoken to him this week yet so no idea if he is still as stoked now that he has made the move.
