PDLM might not know this, but your kid's commute (as opposed to the husband's hardships) will drive the decision. Trust me on this.
I think KIA is right on this one, in which case, you should seriously look at Discovery Bay as it offers unparalleled (well, except for the Peak perhaps) international education from kindergarden/pre-school up. There are other threads on the pros and cons of living in DB but you seem to fit the profile so some of the cons (lack of nightlife, full of kids) may actually be a pro for you. If I remember correctly, the school has some kind of open day soon, there was a flyer in my mailbox but I threw it out as I haven't got any kids (check the DB website). Plus, your dog will love it - many of the community's dogs congregate on the lawn outside my place on week-ends to catch up on the week's events and take care of other dog business.

By the way, don't forget to ask the opinions of the mums on GeoBaby.Com .. you'll get a better perspective on that side of the fence.

If you want to keep the dog, Gold Coast is out of the question as they do not allow them.

So Gold Coast is not dog friendly, bugger! I wont bother looking then as our beautfull dog is a big part of our family. DB is looking more like the place for us. I love Lamma but I know its alot of travel to get kids to an International school. Thanks alot guys for the advice.

From Central u take bus 962 or 962b (a bit longer) or 962X (night bus).
Very important to know, from Central you can get back to Aegean coast/Goldcoast any time of the day or night.
U then get off at the GoldCoast Yatch Club.
You will see GoldCoast Phase 1 (on your right when facing the Yatch club), GoldCoast Phase 2 (on your left) and Aegean Coast at your back opposit the street.
Inside Aegean Coast you have some real Estate Agent (midland...) you can ask to take a look...

Db

Hi Kimmy

We just arrived to HK and we had the same interrogation that you.
After visiting, Happy Valley, Pokfulam, TST,... we choice DB for this reasons:
-it's more quiet and green
-It's better for the children
-We prefered spend our time in ferry than bus (more friendly)
-And for the same price we have a bigger flat than other place

Best regards
Gaelle (I'm french so sorry for my english)

Hi Mat,
How long does it take to travel by bus from Aegean Coast to Central? Is there a kind of light rail system from Tuen Mun to TST as well? I'm not living in HK yet but plan to do so next year, so I am curious. Merci!!!
