Where can I buy smoke alarms that I can install myself??? Have visitors coming over from Oz - am I best to get them to bring some that comply with Aus stds?

There is a shop on Queens Road East (near Kennedy Road end) that sells fire extinguishers and smoke alarms.

Yep, KIA definitely want to install them in our HK home. Do people actually use them here? We live on the ground floor flat in an old colonial building with all the windows barred - just dawned upon me (after my husband had left the gas hob on all night!) should there be a fire in the kitchen/ living area we wouldn't be able to get out ourselves and baby out of the flat!! So need ASAP!
