Best value places to snowboard in asia?

Can anyone based in HK recommend a good value resort in Asia for skiing/snowboarding?

Ah, this has always been a problem for me.

Korea, maybe? But the resorts there aren't big and nice enough.
I have skied there 3 times.

I heard that resorts in Japan could be nicer but perhaps they are much more expensive!!

Not many choices really. Either Korea or Japan.

I would be going to Italy in Jan to ski for a week. Lucky!

Feel free to ask if you need any information.

Niseko, Hokkaido in Japan was a blast.

Korean ones are okay, a lot cheaper, not as nice though.

The packages in Japan can be quite cheap. Don't be put off that Jpn is expensive - it need not be as expensive.

If you don't mind travelling then Australia or New Zealand are great.

I agree with NZ. Australian ski fields are great, if you like skiing on water.

How much is a total package including flight ticket, hotel, lift pass and equipment for a week? I'm thinking about the cheapest in Korea? What's your estimate?

Thanks!

Look on Cathay Pacific Holiday's website. There are some good deals for hotel and flights at the moment. I think lifts and ski hire will have to be further arranged by you though.

I'm keen on going to Korea too in the 2nd week of February, but not if I have to go solo. Anyone who's interested, let me know!

Depends. Try and come up with some prices, then we'll talk!

Hello GD,
I can't remember exactly the prices. I went to Muju Resort which is the largest in korea already last time in Feb. It is approximately a 4-hour bus from Incheon airport . Another hour shuttle bus to the resort. http://www.travel.com.hk/sport/ski/korea/muju.htm (the given site is for information only. Have never used their service)
Flight ticket roughly is, $2,000 - 3,000, cheaper rooms(with tv, not bad) are under $300 a night, a few hundred yards from the lifts.

Don't think they have any weekly packages.

One thing is, it is very difficult to get around. Very few english signs and english speaking people.
