De Fenwick serviced apartments

Hi,

Does anybody have any experience with the De Fenwick serviced apartments in 42-50 Lockhart Road? I'm looking at somewhere to stay from March to July next year and these guys have 1-beds from $14,000. I know the street can be a bit noisy but apart from that does anybody have any comments on the area/building?

For this price you can also get a serviced appartment in the Wan Chai Novotel, I guess that would be a better choice. Nice views, Swimming Pool etc.
As I know some apartments even have a real kitchen...

HI pal,

Living in De Fenwick at the moment.
I'm staying at the 14/f and you don't hear much at all, perhaps the random car horn. My appt is a nice size, just make sure you look at the lay plan of the floor you're staying on as the room varies in size. I had a friend who stayed in one of the Penthouses and it worked out alot smaller than mine, but had a massive balcony- which you wont use that time of the year, cos it's humid and really hot!
You won't get the extras that most hotel/service appt offer, like a gym and pool. It is a bit dear for just a room, but the service is good and all inclusive. Tho I would recommend you check out a few more before you put your money down.

I guess it's a bit dear for a room, but among serviced apts available in the area it's not too bad. Most seem to be from HK$15,000 and up, usually more than HK$20,000 if you want a 1 bedroom and not a studio. Do you have any others to recommend in the same price range?

Incidentally, the Novotel Wanchai quoted me $30,000 for a room for 3 months...
