Thumbs down Patten TV Interview

Just watched this recording from last weekend. I do watch Newsline when I can but this interview with the Right Honourable Lord Patten was so badly done it has put me off watching this crap again.
They gave Mr Patten a plastic cup to hold his drinking water.
Questions were read from a sheet with a complete disregard to the answers given to previous questions.
And our 'Frank Ching' interrupted Mr Patten to say "We've run out of time" just after he asked him a question (on Myanmar).

There was an extended Q&A session at his lunchtime speech at the FCC on Saturday which went quite well. But having said that he was being very diplomatic, and showed his mastery of sort of addressing the question without saying anything new of great significance and without leaving the door open for any tough follow-up questions.

Yes he came over as being extremely diplomatic. Quite different to his past dealing with the mainland when he was Governor.

And that is why ATV World will always be the poor cousin to TVB Pearl.

Ching alas is no Frost; he is a China watcher who has been kicked upstairs till he can't go any higher.

Occasionally when I have wandered over to the channel it is very unsettling watching an inscructable Mr.C reading off questions as soon as soon as his subject pauses.

What ATV needs is to bin the counter top and get a coffee table and a studio audience ; oh and someone with a little charisma possibly female to be the interviewer.

HOT CHICKS! an observation

Yesterday, as usual I settled down to half an hour of enlightenment via the Wall Street Journal Report. Alas Ms Bartiromo was not in attendance, and my interest lasted perhaps 60 seconds before I nodded off.

This happen to anyone else?
