Prince Charles and The Great Chinese Takeaway

Ok. What do you think about the remarks made by Prince Charles?

From: The Daily Mail

Quote:
His journal - entitled 'The Handover of Hong Kong - or The Great Chinese Takeaway' - described a group of Chinese at one ceremony with then-president Jiang Zemin as "appalling old waxworks". The display was characterised as an "awful Soviet-style" performance, with "goose-stepping" soldiers carrying out a "ridiculous rigmarole".
What did he expect? A couple of blokes meeting up at the pub and handing over the keys?

They [The Daily Mail] must have been waiting for Dr. Who's [as Hu is known affectionately among his comrades] visit to let loose this damp squib.

Even the SUMP could only find an old codger like Wu to make a feeble attempt at an assinine retort

"Raymond Wu Wai-yung, a local deputy to the National People's Congress, did not believe the alleged remarks would damage Sino-British ties."

He could not even muster enough spleen to end with "Sino-British bowties"

ho hum

Well, at some point you expect world leaders to behave a little bit better than school kids.

How did we get from a prince tittering over some goose steppers to Dubya thumping?

No matter after this, we can add moonwalking to W's list of shortcomings

Really? But then mankind might progress and that would never do... Tut tut tut

As for Prince Charlie, he's obviously inherited his fathers 'tact' for diplomacy
