hmm, really? i haven't heard of that and i've never picked up on that vibe. they've always been very appreciative. i usually just tell the cleaning lady (who is the sweetest little 83 year old) that I have some stuff and to come up and have a look if she likes... she always comes. its common knowledge in our building that if you put anything downstairs near the service lift, someone will take it and it will get some use. i just gave a load of my old, but still in great shape, clothes to our DH. She took what she wanted, then offered the rest to her friends. I'm now seeing little glimpses of me over the past couple of years walking around the building... its like a mini This Is Your Life Fashion Show
