Work Visa queries

hi guys,

i will be working in HK early next year.

any one know how long it takes to apply for a work visa? i am currently working in Australia.

what is the chance of success when applying for a work visa?

Its roughly 4-6 weeks if all the paperwork is in order, usually its quicker than that.

I assume you have a company sponsoring you? If you have good skills and experience that can't be found locally then you stand a good chance.

yes, work is sponsoring me.

i am due to start work mid jan, so i really hope that a visa is granted before that.

My friend is looking to come to HK for a couple of weeks to a month for work experience/holiday. She doesnt mind if it is unpaid.

If she comes to HK for unpaid work experience, does she still need a working visa?

yep, she sure does...you need one to volunteer!!! where is she from? cus if its aus or nz she can apply for a working holiday visa, vaild for 1 year...
