An Offer

I am an qualifed accountant from australia. Got an offer from one of the big 4 doing tax, and they are paying me $14000 a month. Do you guys think the pay is a bit less, as I have no hk tax experience??

Any comments?? thanks

$14000 hk? and its one of the big four?

ouch! I won't even bother getting out of bed for that sort of money and yes I've worked for one of the big fours in London.

Are they offering you an entry level position? That seems a bit low if it's for candidate with at least some experience.

14k a month could be considered quite low if you're experienced, qualified, and its with one of the 'big 4'. The hours here can be very long - you could find yourself doing a lot of unpaid overtime too.

However... what else are they offering? Housing allowance could double that straight away. Free trips home? Any other expenses?

Run Forrest, Run!

That's not worth leaving home for. You'll have trouble keeping your head above water in Hong Kong for that- not impossible, but very hard.
