Hi Im from the UK and im thinking of moving to HK. and im trying to get an idea of the cost of living out in HK. I heard Hk is the place to buy Computer/Electronics. can someone tell me how much it is for PC games out there. are they much cheaper are they then the UK.
Star Wars Battlefront II (PC) is £32.99 in the uk. dose anyone know how much it is in HK.

Depends which kind you want (fake or original). I think either way, the original should be cheaper in a few cases.

its not like you can stroll into your local dixons/ pc world/ Game/ woolworths/ virgin etc either. Finding the games is a bit of a mission here, it easier to order online, like everywhere else!

Laughing Monkey, there are a couple of places i know of where you can find a good selection of games. Hong Kong Records in Pacific Place has some, and there is a shop i went to in TST as you get of the ferry, next to McD's.

Woo! I just received the game i ordered off gameplay.com (X3Reunion). Only took a couple of days to arrive (mind you i did pay enough for priority international delivery!) and its easy to find what you want on a website... hehehe

Anyway, will check out the stores you mentioned baron, for next time

most of the big computer centres have shops that sell PC games... the wanchai computer centre next to southorn playground, 298 and 188 between wanchai and causeway bay, and the mongkok computer centre (PM me if you really want to find it).

but you're right, it's not as easy as just going to a department store.

to answer the question, think you'll find games are cheaper here, by varying amounts. electronics (cameras, phones) are definitely cheaper here, so are most computer parts.

most major releases make their way to local HK distribution. SW:Battlefront 2 costs HKD269 i think, tops 299. that's the range for most new titles, 260-300.

on the 2nd floor, there is a well-know PC game shop..
