| | | In the evenings you can find the bags along Temple Street between Jordan and Yau Ma Tei MTR stations. The sandals can be found in one of the many sports shoe/hiking shops on Tung Choi Street, Mong Kok. | |

| | | Ayyar - u will find a lot of street vendors on Ladies market that sell designer bags&watches, they only have a catalogue for you to look thru there but i think once u have found the bag on paper, they will take u somewhere upstairs and show u the 'real' bag. not sure of the quality or how real they look tho!
as for berkinstock sandals, i have seen them everywhere but i cant think of the name of those shops now! sorry!

| | | walker shop for birkenstocks, they're usually in the large shopping malls.
for the fake bags as previously mentioned, mongkok, you get your usual category a b and c bags, category a of course being the most expensive because they look exact, Category B being worse quality than A and C being the worst where it blatantly looks fake, even down to the wrong spelling of the brand name.

| | | You can buy birkenstocks at the Converse shop in Times Square.
Fake designer bags, try Shenzhen. If not, Mongkok ladies street is good

| | | knock offs Last time I went to HK, a coworker asked me to get a LV for his wife; a copy by the way. I went to Shen Chun with my cousin in HK because he knows where to go. Just as soon as we got out the train station, there was a huge commercial building. Inside, there were floors of shops selling almost anything under the sun. If you want Channel, LV or Cartier the sell them there. But there are different grades of knock-offs. If you want to buy the best one, it’s “AA†grade which is so real that I can’t even tell even with my wife’s real one compared side by side. The LV logo pattern matched and seams and the materials looked identical to the real thing. It was the traditional style handbag 16†size asked for 400 HK, we bargained down to 280. But the “B†and “A†grades are easily spotted if you how to tell; especially the “Bâ€; the patterns are not matched and the color of the handle is on the pale side. | |

| | | Probably off-topic, but I never really saw the point of people buying the real bag - there are so many fakes in HK that even if you had the real bag, many people would say it's a fake. | |

| | | Carrying a fake compared to a real one, the feeling is different. I was originally from HK. Never knew what it felt like to have designer stuff when I was younger. Personally I am not a trend following like most HK’ers. I don’t see the point of trying to impress others by spending thousands on a wallet or handbag. If you are poor, you are still poor no matter if you are carry a Channel or Louis Vittton. If you are well-off, you don’t need to advertise it anyway. But as you said, HK is full of people who buy knock-off watches and fashion accessories so that they can pretend to be well-off.. | |

| | | I dont believe ppl buy designers clothes, bags or watches to make themselves look rich. its more to do with a feel good factor if u ask me. OL slave at the office all day long and they are most happy when shopping for LV and so on.
I would never buy an expensive bag coz I dont think its worth the money but some ppl do and will buy such. Only expensive thing I would buy is maybe a nice wallet coz they last longer imo. also a nice watch and shoes coz they look after your feet.
As for fakes I always tell friends if you cant afford then dont buy it. No1 will laugh at you coz u dont have the latest LV bag or whatever but they will if they know its fake.
my 2 cents

| | Hi
interesting subject....by the way, for those analysing fakes, Chanel is spelt with one 'n'.
Hope this helps!
