tailors...

Hi, does anyone know of tailors that are good are "copying" designs? well i thought of buying my own fabric from textile shops and having them "copied" according to those shirts/pants that i already have. any suggestions anyone? should i buy my own fabric or just bring my design to the tailors and choose the fabric from their any recommendations on where i could get fabrics at reasonable and decent pricings?
Thanks & cheerios!

There are a couple of good tailors in World Wide House on the 2/F. Sorry I don't remember the names but they have all the latest catalogs and make copies. Heard today that there's also a Shenzen tailor who comes to HK regulary to take measurements and orders, and she will mail you your clothes when they're ready. Don't have the name but can get it for you.

I'd be interested in the details of the Shenzhen tailor too, if her work is good. Thanks!

Great thread.... been meaning to ask just this question since I got here. I had a suit made Kowloon side and I am happy with the quality, but I just don't get the impression that 1) they have the fabrics and 2) the expertise to make more casual clothes or slightly smart work/dressy clothes for the missus.

I would be interested in getting the details of the Shenzen tailor and any other contacts for sourcing modern fabrics, and someone who has the skills to tailor copies...

Yes, I've had the same experience. It looks like a suit, but the cut is bad, even with something to copy. Ideally, I'd like a tailor who can make well cut, smart looking work suits even without another suit to copy from (would rather not have a cloned wardrobe).
