Dear All ,

I am planning to be in Hong kong November 15th -December 31st.
I would like to know from you which time will be the low rates for hotel.

As last time I booked the room on hkd$700 and after 10 days it was 1200 because of canton fair and disney land openning.

So I would like to check with you what is the best time to visit Hongkong in between November 15th -December 31st for getting a better room rates.

WTO Conference from Dec. 12 to 18 is expected to attract 6,000 delegates, 3,000 reporters, 2,000 representatives of nongovernment organizations and according to alarmists, an estimated 10,000 portests.
That time, it is impossible you can get any booking done. The rate in Nov. must be lower than the rate in Dec.

October - November and December are all popular months with tourists - the humidity has dropped but the sun is still shining. I suppose what I am saying is that I think the price will be pretty much the same except Christmas when prices will increase

My friend works at one of the hotels in HK. I wanted to book a hotel from her but she said that period you mentioned is the peak season for HK hotels. You would have to expect higher rates.

I booked a room from the 17th Dec to 22nd Dec with habour plaza north point, price are very resonable. As Hong Kong is more a commercial city, to your surprise, after 17th and 18th Dec, it is actually a low peak season for the hotel industry, for so long i have been looking (since August), the hotel prices are actually cheaper in Dec than Nov, especailly after 17th and 18th Dec. Some hotels might have a little higher price on christmas eve, christmas day, new year's eve and new year's day, but most of them are still pretty average price. Try looking at http://www.precisionreservations.com/default.aspx, that's where i book my hotel, very reasonable price, just remember the price displayed are not tax inclusive.
Also, if you don't have confidence in giving away your credit card details, you can talk to one of their live agent throught their website, and ask them to make a no obligation booking for you, that way, you don't have to give away any information before they confirm the room for you. Just have to be very patient sometimes, as most of the hotels are already booked out even though i tried to book it a month ago, i have tried many before i can confirm on one.

Nov. 21--27 might be off season. Americans will have Thanksgiving on Nov. 24. Most of the families like to get together at home having big dinners. So, they won't travel abroad at this time of the year unless they have family members living in Hong Kong.

I went to the website you mentioned to book the hotel and spoke to customer service on live Chat, found out that they do not guarantee what kind of room I will be getting. Once I book the room, I have to settle with whatever room is available to me and since I have to bring 2 daughters along with me, is risky for me to book it and they cannot guaranted if the room is going to be big. I don't know if the Customer service tells you this and I hope you find this information helpful. Have a good stay!

Hmmm~~~most of the hotel rooms in Hong Kong are not expected to be that big anyway, apart if your paying for the higher priced hotels? Say Marco Polo, Conrad Hotel , Island Shangri-la Hotel and JW Marriott Hotel .....etc. Precision Reservation is only an online booking agent, and since that they would not be able to know the room size, suggest you have a few hotels in mind and do some researches on the hotels you preferred, then book it. There is a lot of online booking agents, precision was only a suggestion, and of course if budget is allowed, deal directly with the hotel then you shall be able to guranteed a room with your requests.

Hmmm~~~Correct me if i am wrong, i know Hong Kong's hotel prices are more likely to be affected by if there are any conferences, exhibitions held during the period, rather than if there are less visitors~~
