As tough and expensive as California is in terms of cost of housing and living necessities, I think it’s still cheaper than some European countries. We are paying $3 a gallon on gas, we are screaming. Most European countries have paid that for years. Everything is cheap in US when compared to Europe. But HK is a bargain if you are not eating extravagantly. Middle class families can afford to live in a 2000 sf brand new home in the suburb, not in the metro though. But if you don’t have a huge mortgage, you don’t need to work in a big city.
Yeah, but then you have to live there. Mostly, the good spots are not cheap. San Francisco, Manhattan. California is not cheap when it comes to buying a house. The Bay Area is not cheap for anything. But if you can hustle thrift stores and get a rent controlled apartment, it's a different story. I'll take a small apartment in a vibrant city over a large house in the midwest, um, always...

Fascinating, but hey generalizations ahoy. Still it was worth reading this thread if only to see the term 'paperbag girls'. Where do these mean little sayings come from?

And the more you can create your own norms outside societal boundaries. And the more interesting the relationship is as a result of exploring different cultures. Sometimes when you're in a relationship with the same culture you talk too much. Sometimes it's better to feel...

If one has a 34-26-34 figure, she would be attracting drooling eyes on the street. Majority of HK girls don’t hang around bars in the same proportion as women in the State. The kind that hangs around clubs and bars usually speak some English and that means they have been exposed to western cultures. Typically, the are looking for something Bigger if you know what I mean. I also agree that only a small percentage of the HK women couldn’t qualified to be called “good looking or attractive”. I am Chinese but I think HK girls nowadays are too shallow and superficial. It’s interesting how people from different culture get attracted and reacted to the opposite sex of other cultures. .
I was always attracted to blonde and blue eyes and who weren’t ! But I lot of Caucasian men I work with are proud to have Asian girlfriends and wife. I guess when you have steaks all your life, eating with chopsticks will be fun for a change!.
