.RMVB files? Never really had much experience with Realplayer files. Why don't you check out the usual suspects (torrentspy/thepiratebay/demonoid/mininova etc) for your files - nearly all will be in DivX .avi format or .mpg files.

There is a free converter for .rmvb files.

thanks everyone for your input.

well, i haven't checked out the specs of the Hyundai recorder but whether it can process divx or not, we're committed to it.

initally, we dl most of our files from a HK forum, uwants, and they're mostly in .rmvb format & watch w/ Real Player. now, it's mostly from torrentspy, etc. so some in .avi format. the size of the .avi file wasn't too bad as it only took couple of mins to burn onto a dvd last nite (but we only did 1 episode).

i think we dl the divx converter (codec or s'thg). at the end of it all, if u want to burn onto dvd, it's a huge pain in the arse - but i just don't want to watch 16 episodes of LOST in front of my pc.....whine, whine, whine....

FYI you can check a lot of DVD player/recorder models for format support here:

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

If your TV has basic S-Video and Stereo sound inputs (or better) you could always hook up a laptop to the TV - some modern laptops have S-Video out... or you could build a HTPC...
