Remember, if you use BitTorrents, as soon as you start to download, you automatically become a member of the 'swarm' of uploaders. So you are distributing whatever you download.

It is possible with some BT clients to throttle the uploads to zero but given that BT file sharing is a zero sum game (ie for every bit you download someone has to have uploaded a bit) the BT concept would soon ground to a halt.

It is very likely that they will make examples of a few more people. According to the papers (take a pinch of salt here as who knows the intention of the article) BT traffic dropped 80% after the arrest. I have no idea how they can monitor this.

Also worth noting - it is a fairly difficult process to prove who actually did the downloading. So either get a wireless network card and see if you can tap into your neighbour's wireless broadband or make sure you sign up for BT accounts using your wife's email address. That way if they come knocking you are in the clear.

Nero Vision Express, DVD Santa or ULead VideoStudio are 3 bits of software that will convert from AVI (and other formats) to DVD format and allow playing your files on your standalone player. There are a few other bits of s/ware that will do the same trick but these are 3 I have used.

DVD Santa is very straightforward and works well but doesn't allow for the creation of interactive menus etc that the other software can do.

It isn't bad but read that with all the usual caveats. Plot lines become more and more ludicrous, dialogue ain't the stuff of Dickens, characters totally unbelievable.

It is basically about a guy who gets thrown into prison deliberately so he can get his brother, who is incorrectly jailed on death row, out.

If you can get over all the holes in the plot (like, how did he know he was to be sent to the same prison as his brother - one hell of a gamble, how come he spent no time on remand etc etc) then it is, as they say, a pleasant(ish) diversion.

It is up to episode 12 and I am still watching it so what can I say. No better or worse than 'Lost' in my opinion. Maybe more a reflection on local TV and the fact my broadband TV never works for more than 5 minutes at a go. Either that or simply too much time on my hands.

Thanks.

No problems playing Lost or any other file so far. I've only had Tvix a few weeks, but already planning on buying the new networked model due out in January.
