Flights to Bangkok

Hello listfolk

I need to travel to bangkok pretty urgently as a family member has become ill and is in hospital.

Can someone recommend a good travel agent or the like where I could get a cheap flight at short notice?

Thanks!

What's cheap? Just going on http://www.cathaypacific.com I could book now a flight leaving at 9:05 in the morning for HK$1960+tax of $302.

Maximum stay 21 days. You need to specify a return flight but you can change it any time before you are due to fly back for a fee of HK$300.

You might be able to do a couple of hundred better with other airlines but CX has plenty of flights so you have more flexibility.

That's certainly the way I'd go. I don't think Zuji does last minute, but on the CX site you can book up until 3 hours before departure.

Er, absolutely. About HK$2000 is what BKK costs. If you have been paying US$2000 even for First Class then someone has been seriously ripping you off.

The lowest fares CX publishes for Bali at the moment are:
HK$3790/4940/5470 +taxes for low/shoulder/high season respectively. Min stay 3 nights, max stay 7 nights. Add HK$4-500 if you want to stay more than 7 days.

Seasonality (determined by outbound date):
Low: 01NOV-15DEC05, 01-26JAN06, 03FEB-11APR06, 17APR-30JUN06.
Shoulder: 16-22DEC05, 28-31DEC05.
High: 23-27DEC05, 27JAN-02FEB06, 12-16APR06.

Wow PDLM you really are the expert!
Should I buy now for begining of Jan or wait for some last minute deals? Perhaps they wont be going down at all?

If you're sure of the dates you want I would find a travel agent who can make a reservation for you in the right sub-class (K for that price I think) and hold it for you without ticketing it. They should be able to hold it until 2 or 3 weeks before the date you want to fly. If you don't make reservations now the danger is that the cheap seats will sell out and the only option would be more expensive.

PDLM, what is a good rate to fly to BKK during Chinese new year? Feb 7-10 is what I am looking at.
