Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if Western Market in Central still sells fabrics and sewing equipment please? Some people are telling me that its no longer open but I have also read on some HK websites that Western market is the place to buy fabrics!

Western Market definitely has fabrics, not sure about sewing equipment. Fifteen min. walk from that area down Queens Rd West (at the end of Hollywood Rd when it hits Queens Rd W..) I walk by a little Singer store that has a few sewing machines.
If your in interested in the more industry-side of material shopping and also want things like ribbons, fasteners etc, I really like Sham Shui Po - its all little and long streets full of things kinda around Nam Cheong St.
But you need to have alot of time to explore round there, there are lots of hidden crammed stores, u can find shops that can dye ribons any pantone colour. Or a tiny shops full of take-away swatches so you can order in bulk favourite combinations, or ones only selling sequin appliques.
