Down to finding my last two essentials....Help! Ok, so we've finally made the move to HK and have been to Coyote Bar and Grill, Agave on LKF, bought furniture, groceries, been to Stanley, Mongkok, and even managed to go to work through all of this. But, there are two items that I haven't been able to find yet. The queen bed we bought is 60" by 80" (152cm by 203cm) and it is fairly deep with the pillow top thingy on top. I need some sheets that will fit it and haven't found any yet. The ones I have seems to come off the corners in the middle of the night. Very frustrating. The second thing I can't seem to find is diced tomatoes and green chilies. The brand back home was called rotel but I not picky about brand. Any help would be much appreciated!

Try Sogo for the first item (CWB) and try City Super for the second item (parkn'shop super store may also have it with better price). Regarding the bed sheets, if you don't mine to be more creative, u can sew one. Wanchai MTR A1 exit walk towards Dai Yau and cross a street does have a old Chinese store selling all kind of sheets and pillow, the owner will sew it for u within 5 minutes.

Thanks for the info. I am about to make my own with the diced tomatoes and chillies in separate cans. Who knows...might be better than what I am used to. I have tried the park-n-shops in multiple areas with no success and have tried city super in IFC with no success. At this point it has turned into a quest. It is like my own holy grail quest. My wife makes fun of me. It's not that I can't live without it, I just want to see if I can find it now. As for the sheets...I left my thimble and sewing machine back home. Don't get me wrong I'm not gay-lo but I have sewn a few things in my time, just don't have the time or equipment here to pull it off. I will try the place in Wanchai. Thanks for the tip. I can use all the tips I can get.

StanleyStanely, Would you be able to give me a bit more info about this lady who sews pillows and sheets etc. Is the shop next to anything in particular? Do you know which street its on and roughly how much does it all cost? Thanks

MTR A3 exit Johnston Road 189 close to Tai Yau Building. Last time I selected a white sheet for a single bed was HK$65. The price is close to Sea horses shop but more choices. U can also go to Sea Hourse shop to have a look first. It is right opposite to the MTR A3 exit Wanchai. around Johnston Road 138. Hope u get what u want!

You speak of a real bed! I stay at my uncle's and I sleep on this rock hard, stiff bed cot thingy. HK people are odd. Anyways, I also spotted some bedroom furniture/accessories at the Sogo at causeway.

ToNzOfPHun, you might want to take a look at the latest technology in foam matresses. They use advanced materials which offer good support for only 1.5 to 3 inch thick matresses. They can also be folded up when not in use. No springs - no squeaks.

Wing On in Sheung Wan has by far the best selection of bedding anywhere I have seen in HK
