I was recommended this building by a friend of a friend. Does anyone here know about it? What are the pros and cons? I'll be working in Central. Is it easy to get there? Thanks

I used to live in tai po and the commute into central is a nightmare, I certainly wouldn't reccomend it, you're looking at about 45 minutes to an hour each way.

I'd go for somewhere nearer like sha tin if you want to stay in the NT side.

Thanks jimbo. It's very useful to know. In general, would you recommend NT? Is there any nice and convenient area to Central there? Sorry, I'm completely clueless here...

Sea Otter, It really does depend on what sort of lifestyle you want, If you want wide open spaces and peace and quiet then I'd reccomend Sai Kung/Clear water bay, It has a regular mini bus service into Central which doesn't take long at all, And we all know how these mini bus drivers drive!

Thanks jimbo. Yea, we are looking for somewhere with more space and greenery as don't want to cramp in central. Some other friends were suggesting Saikung, Clearwater Bay and Lamma island too. Will def give it a try.

Geeze, thanks for the info abt the mini bus drivers. That's really reassuring... lol...

you sure about that, Jimbo? The only regular (green) minibus service from Sai Kung I know of goes to Choi Hung. The others (red) go to Kwun Tong and Po Lam. If there is a regular service to Central I'd sure like to know more....do tell..

There are some that do go into central but they only run the service in the mornings, I'll try and find out more.

Just make sure you update your life insurance policy and your will before you get on these things on a regular basis.

caroline13/jimbo,

I'll be in HK in 3 weeks time. I'm looking for a serviced apartment to start of with for a month, then looking to rent more permanently. I want to be somewhere (long term) with more space and greenery, but easy to get to Central. Where would you guys suggest???

Thanks a bunch!
