Getting to the Shenzhen Airport without Chinese Visa?

Is there any way to get to the Shenzhen airport without actually having to have a Chinese Visa?

I have found a lot of flights tend to be cheaper from there, but if I have to get a Chinese Visa for every time I enter/exit the country that would negate all of the savings.

I think that you definitely need a Chinese Visa. You could get a multiple entry visa instead of a single entry visa - this will reduce the cost a bit.

Oh and what about Macau airport - I think that low cost airlines are now set up - no chinese visa required here

Yea, Air Asia flies through Macau. I am flying to BKK from there in December for about 1000HK less than it would cost me from HKG. And that is including the round trip ferry ticket.

I was just wondering about Shenzhen because I've seen many cheap flights from there too.

I just got a ticket flying to BKK from HK in Dec for HKD900. It's just as cheap to fly to SG and TPE. Is it really worth the trouble and time to fly from Macau? The round trip ferry ticket alone costs almost HKD300.
The meal and service may not be your primary concern, but the need to rush to the boarding gate, fighting for a seat against a group of mainland Chinese tourists doesn't seem too much fun.

Who did you get your ticket through?

I was online and the tickets were MUCH more expensive. I'm also looking for the days around Christmas which probably makes a difference too.

It actually isn't that bad in Macau. It is kind of the same thing, I either fly from HKG and have to fight with Chinese tourists or I fly from Macau and fight with Chinese tourists (I'm Chinese BTW).

The savings was inclusive of the ferry ticket both ways and plus since I like to gamble anyways, on my way back I just stop in the casinos and play a little while. That way, I don't waste the ferry ticket

I am flying during Christmas too, from the 20th - 26th Dec.
Got the ticket this morning via the net, but I think any travel agent can offer you similar fare, as there are so many flights to SE asia everyday.
Next time you can go to www.zuji.com.hk or www.aerohkg.com to take a look before making any booking. Sometimes the travel agents can give you a better rate because they have group tickets for sale.
I am constantly looking for bargains too, but I found that I might not save a lot flying from Macau after I added up all the costs.
HK - BKK RT is around HKD500 if I manage to get the lowest fare. HK-Macau RT is around HKD300. Macau ferry terminal - airport RT (Express Link service) is around HKD100. Airasia charges around HKD400 taxes and fees for Macau-BKK RT.
Airasia operates a 'free seating' policy, meaning it won't assign any seat to the passengers. Anyone can sit anywhere he wants. You can imagine how messy it can be.

I've used zuji before, but not that other site. Thanks for the link.

I'm going to be traveling through SE Asia for 40 days in December/Jan, so that will help a lot in planning my trip.

I'm not actually flying RT to BKK - that is where my price difference is. I'm flying BKK first and then from KL back

Why not try looking at a return flight from HK to Singapore and then use Singapore as your base. Check out www.jetstarasia.com for prices from Singapore - majorly cheap!

Singapore is too far south for the parts that I want to visit to be my base. I'm using BKK as of now. I haven't booked everything yet though, so I don't know if that will change. My father and I are having differences of opinion on budget restrictions He thinks my numbers are inflated, I think he is being stingy, you know how that goes...

I'm mostly concentrating in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia for this trip. I'm only flying out of KL because it is the closest large airport that is near a couple of outlying islands that I want to visit. And really, the only reason I'm actually flying back to HK at all is that I have no other place to leave my bags. I didn't bring that much stuff with me when I came here, but I decided that the bulk of the stuff that I did bring + what I've purchased, I don't want to travel for 40 days with. I could ship it back to the States, but sadly, that costs more than it does for me to just fly here, stay in a hotel for one night and then pick up my stuff and fly to the States. I really should make my dad fly here and get what I want, but he is pretty busy and him flying here and back to the Phillipines in his little plane costs A LOT more than it costs me to to fly back and forth on a commercial airline.
