| Well, thanks! Those were the two places I had narrowed it down to. Anyone ever been there? I've never done a detox retreat, not sure what to expect other than eating like a rabbit and being massaged all weekend. |

| I've done a 7 day detox in Texas. That is pretty much the bulk of it - eatting really healthy and getting pampered until you can't be pampered anymore It was sublime. C |

I'm from Houston but am in school at UT in Austin at the moment (I'm an exchange student here for a semester). I did the detox at the Lake Austin Spa Resort. It is up in the hill country out away from everything. I loved it. Ate really good food, tooks some yoga classes, and some nutrition and exercise classes. Had a massage/spa treatment pretty much every day I was there. I think that I had at least 3 different types of massages during the week and they did a ton of things to my body to make my skin "look and feel better." I don't remember what they did, and by now, it has all worn off, but at the time it felt good I never remember the names of the things they do to me when I go on spa retreats, they are all so scientific and technical. Just not my thing. My extended family can never decide on one place to go for vacations that would be fun for everyone (the youngest person is my cousin at 4 years old, and the oldest is my grandmother at 88 - finding something that pleases everyone has never happened) so we usually do spa days/weekends as get togethers. All of the cousins will go out one weekend, and then maybe all of the aunts will do a girls weekend, and one year we actually did a family spa vacation which was in a resort in Arizona. That was something that we all agreed we wouldn't repeat. Meeting with 3-4 different family members at one time for a weekend like this is good, having all 20 of us at one place, is not good I haven't been to either of the two mentioned above though. I've only been to retreats in the States, Europe and some in the Carhibbian (my spelling sucks, but the ocean with like Aruba and the Bahamas and stuff in it). I'm sure you will enjoy it though. C |

| The detox I always do is in Koh Samui, Thailand. Check out www.spasamui.com for more info. You can do a 3-day fast or Gallbladder cleanse, which involves colemas and great detox drinks. Highly recommend it. Now you can fly to Koh Samui direct with no stopover in Bangkok, a 3 hr flight. I just got tickets through www.travel.com.hk for $2500. Good luck! Let me know if you need more info. |
