| If Pat Heung is what Ithink it is, it means "eight villages" which is an association made up of the eight viallages in the Yeun Long area. Is this your origin ? I think it doesn't matter what dialect you speak, if you are Chinese, you speak loud anyway; es[ecially in HK ! Quote:

| Hi Shirley, Please take no offense to my comments. Talking loud for most Hkers are normal. But then again, for those who are not used to talking loud, it is quite uncomfortable. HK is a noisy place. I know in places like teahouses, you can’t hear when people sitting next to you because of the noise around you; so what is one to do in a conversation ? So it became a habit for people growing up in HK. Hope I didn’t make you feel “loudâ€. Quote:
