| sure, all are welcome. just so I know where to arrange this, where are you guys staying? So it'll be somewhere central to everyone and also you don't necessarily have to be hakka to join. |

| Yum Cha Quote:
Hi, If you are looking to Yum Cha in Central then Dragon-i have a Yum Cha buffet at HK$180 per person. For Yum Cha the atmosphere is unlike any other. Unfortunately weekdays only! Head along Des Veoux Road Central (past 3 and PCCW) towards Sheung Wan and there are a few Chinese restaurants that serve Dim Sum. There are two that I know of but I am not sure what time the restaurants stop serving Dim Sum. At Times Square, Causeway Bay there is Heichinrou on the 10th floor of the Food Forum. The Dim Sum there is excellent but a little on the expensive side. At Lee Theatre Plaza, there is Hakka Hut. Not too sure what Yum Cha is like there but there is also a branch at the Miramar in Tsim Sha Tsui. On Kowloon side there is a Maxim's Restaurant in Grand Century Plaza, Mongkok. So, what does every one think? Which destination would be best?t? I am good for Kowloon or Hong Kong side. |

| There are a lot Haka folks in HK. In the early days, Haka folks lived on Junks and sampans. They made their living fishing and providing transportations for goods and people from the steamships to shore. The Haka cuisine is well known in HK; especially the “salt-baked chicken†among other favorite dishes. Over the years, the younger Hakas had very little or no interest to carry on the “life on the boat†style of living and made their way to land. Today in the Yeun Long and Tai po area, lives a large population of Haka people. Most Chinese dialects sound pretty loud and nasty that includes my own (Cheung Shan, Shek Kee) which my parent speak. Although there is still a small population of Haka making a living on the water, the number is dwindling. You will see a lot of Haka folks in the estuary near the “Jumbo†seafood restaurant on the HK side. |
