Baron,
Which are the ones you recommend?
The Liars' Club by Mary Karr is pretty good, so razor-edged but too gloomy at times.
I don't think Bill Clinton or any political figure's bio is worth reading, maybe except Churchhill (Smart)/JFK (Juicy)/John John Jr.(Yummy)

Baron is an unknown quantity at this point.
bio's are down to personal taste. Your fave actors, musicians or personalities. Some of the best ones are on everyday people who have lived through times of hardships etc. My fave ones over the years have been on actors like Mongomery Clift (my fave actor), Jimmy Dean, River Phoenix, Antony Perkins and John Lennon. But then i've read great books about peoples times during the first war and as grizzly as it sounds, serial Killers. Its all down to taste.

kombuchakid.... thought it would be fun to have a thread dedicated to books where we can share our thoughts on various books we have read....thanks for the link to the short story competition.

@ all, if we have budding writers , poets in our midst. it would be fun to share and discuss our stuff don't you think??

i do dabble in poetry but its nothing serious... just a hobby :-) i have had a couple of pieces published on the web.

@ all, what about starting a book club?? we can meet up once a month and probably over coffee or a quick bite... discuss the book?? does that appeal to all of you?

I read Angelas Ages years ago. Really enjoyed it.

What did everything think of Harry Potter Book 6?
Wasn't the ending a bit abrupt?

Any book by Philip K. Dick--highly imaginative
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen--classic chick read
For some morbid reading, read Vincent van Gogh's private letters to his brother Theo.
great stuff... will definitely read some of those books... angela's ashes is a great book and so is pride and prejudice... but i never got around to reading tis and the stephen hawking one ( this i know i should).
