Take a "Newbie" under your wing!

Hey Gang, Just moved here for work (which i start tomorrow) and spent my first weekend wandering the Streets of HK, Staying in Mong Kok for a week until I sort more permanent diggs! i'm really interested in making some new friends as i'm finding not really knowing anyone quite hard! (i know i've only been here a few days!).

Also, Working in Tai Po and still debating whether to live close to work or nearer the island and commute! any suggestions?

Any advice would be greatly appretiated. Thanx a million!

I'm a newbie too.

I too have just moved to HK. Been here about 5 days. Would love to be able to meet some fellow expats.

I live in Central and work in Shenzhen.

Wow, that's brave of you, advertising online for some 'friends'. I'd be careful if I were you. It's a real dodgy bunch hanging around here, huh, everyone?!

Oye! You resemble that remark.

Best bets to meet some new folks .. show up for one of our dinners. The last one had about 45, the next one will probably be around the same number of people.

Emotionally cheaper than trolling the streets of Mongkok looking for friends.

Good advice. I work in Tai Po and live in Mong Kok. Mong Kok is ideal for me because I am close to the Mong Kok KCR and MTR. Fairly easy commute to work on KCR, and can still get across to the island pretty fast. Minibus runs all night frequently from LKF and Wan Chai. Really, every five minutes. Most things can be purchased a block away. Enjoy your stay...

Sheesh, if only I had options. The company frickin' cafe which is complete, um, bollocks. If I can bring in a couple more tenders, I'm movin' on up to Wan Chai. A deluxe apartment in the sky...
