As the title says

Does anyone have a clue how much it costs to ship furniture to europe.
I've managed to get a quite a lot of furniture and I'm begining to think I'll have to sell it off/give it away due to the shipping costs.

Anyone? a hint?

(I've called some rellocation companies but since I'm not really moving at the moment they seem to be very reluctant to give me a quote...)

it will so depend on how much it is, how fragile it is and how you want them to pack it.

We have moved around a lot and would say that a full 40 cubic foot container costs about USD4k-5k.

I suggest that you ask the furniture companies who have a good knowledge on these things.

how long is a piece of string?

it is usually charged by the cubic foot, if i recall correctly... so, if you have a huge sofa and a massive tequila kola dining table and a bunch of large pieces from macau, it will cost a lot more than if you have knock-down furniture from IKEA(i know, who would semd IKEA stuff home???)

but i think that you get my point.

ok - my bad. But seriously, if 40 cu ft is $5000, than one cu ft would be around 970. Is that a resonable expectation?
