Traffic Rules?????

Would someone please explain the rules to me? When pedestrians are already in the crosswalk, it seems that cars still have the right of way and just barrel right through us. WTF????

If you mean Zebra crossings (with the orange flashing lights) then the rule is that once you are on the crossing you have right of way and the vehicle should stop, but I agree that some drivers do seem to play a game of chicken. I always reckon that I am big enough that I would do significant damage to their vehicle if they hit me so I'm fairly safe with normal cars at least - I'm a bit more cautious with trucks & buses.

Obviously on red/green man crossings it is clear who has right of way, although red light jumping is a bit of a problem here.

Ya well this morning on the way to work, with loads of pedestrians in the crossing a taxi went straight through all of us and almost hit me. Drivers in this town really are ignorant and need a collective kick in the ass.

Oh well, I think taxi drivers all over the world I like that. At least in Melbourne they don't give way

Granted taxi drivers here aren't as bad as in Korea. At least here they don't say no if they don't feel like going to that destination; or point to the other side of the road and say you need to catch a cab from that side!

There are 2 problems: First, locals are too passive about their pedestrian rights. Second, the drivers are either morons or think they are above everyone else.

And what is up with those metal fences between the roads and sidewalks? Not only is it an eyesore, it destroys any sense of a neighbourhood comminity.

It was rhetorical ga wor. I was expressing my frustration at the whole traffic situation.

What is up with fining people who cross the road? If the road is clear, let us cross.. and if not, leave the green man on for longer.

That pisses me off..
