Buying a VCR and other stuff

Was wondering where I can buy a VCR in HK? Most places I have visited have DVD players and recorders, but no VCRs. I don't need a complicated/fancy one, just want to record the occasional tv program that I might miss.

BTW - where can one find/watch US television channels, or are we all limited to just NOW TV and Cable?

You can still buy vcrs. Try Fortress, Broadway, Tai Lin, Chung Yuen all on the 7th floor of Times Square. Just around the corner from T.S. on Percival Street, which has the tram line, is an audio video store which sells vcrs too. It also has vhs and mini-dv tapes at amazingly low prices.

Depends on what you want.
I wanted to be able to record nicam so that gives you stereo output by default,
I also value being able to record at one third speed or known as EP mode. One half speed is known as LP and normal speed is SP. EP mode allows you to record 12 hours on a 4 hour tape.
S-vhs is also a necessity. S-vhs tapes are only a few dollars more than standard tapes but the quality is astounding.
Vcrs with these functions will cost more but it's worth it for me.
Oh and another requirement was that it should be able to set more than a handful of programs.

Wow, your requirements are much more than mine - I was just hoping for good picture quality with SP/LP/EP speed, that would look decent on my TV. So where did you buy yours?

BTW - is there no satellite service or anything that gives "real" US channels?

CNN Headline News is from the States but is a load of crap. Fox is a better option.
