Bottled Mineral Water

Does anyone drink bottled mineral water? I have two bottles in front of me and the difference in the quantities of minerals is very surprising. These are the mg/l values:

mineral ---> bottle_a -> bottle_b

calcium ----> 4.5 ----> 104
sodium ---- > 3.0 ------> 8
magnesium -> 1.3 -----> 4
potassium --> 0.5 -----> 0.8
chloride ----> 5.0 ----> 13.6
nitrate -----> 1.9 -----> 12
sulphate ---> 4.0 -----> 8

Is 104 mg/l of calcium good or bad?
I need to try some other bottles methinks.

I only drink bottled mineral water - which is very hard to find here BTW.

Calcium: 78
Magnesium: 24
Sodium: 5
Potasium: 1
Bicarbonates: 357
sulphates: 10
chlorides: 4.5
nitrates: 1

those are mg/l.

This bottle of water is also pH balanced at 7.2, which I believe will affect the minerals in it.

everything you ever wanted to know about bottled mineral water: http://www.mineralwaters.org/

BTW, is someone really bored at work?

I find them fairly easy to find. Noted you're not going to get much of a selection in a 7-11 but the supermarkets have quite a few.

Calcium can't be bad, although bottle_b's amount of calcium is up quite alot.

We have Volvic here:
Calcium: 11.5
Magnesium: 8.0
Sodium: 11.6
Potassium: 6.2
Silica: 31.7
Chlorides: 13.5
Nitrates: 6.3
Sulphates: 8.1
Bicarbonates: 71.0

pH: 7

Thanks martyn. I've re-checked bottle_b's figures and it's as I typed it. Another point to note is that a high salt and therefore sodium intake is bad for us (as reported on the bbc website's magazine section).

Well Angie, thanks but so far I have had great difficulty making the meet ups. Not that I am particularly popular rather just busy with other things.

bottle_b wouldn't happen to be milk? Haha. I thought if you wanted calcium you drank milk.

Yes, I read that excess intake of salt and sodium is not good. I actually tried a non-sodium V8 and it didn't taste as good as the sodiumised version.

yea, calcium is good for you from what I'm read, but too much is supposed to be bad (over 1000mg or so a day, or near there). I belive that it makes you really tired and can cause appetite loss and weight loss.

LOL - I don't work - I am sittin in the middle of my finance class though

I couldn't find any of the higher end waters at the Park n' shop that is near me (it is a tiny one) - they were all distilled water anyways.

But Oliver's delivers so I got my monthly supply there
