Hey everyone, the site is getting a little slow of late, and it's up to everyone to try and lift it a bit. Get more involved in the chat thread (we're seeing how long we can make it), try and answer more questions and even get people together for outings. It doesn't take much to organise a 'photo outing' or 'boat trip'. Most of all we need all those people viewing this site as a 'guest' to join up and take part...it's free so what do you have to lose? We want to make this site bigger and better, perhaps even have a few comp's...get active!

I am just about to move to HK after marrying local girl and living in US, Amsterdam and Canada for last 7 or 8 years.

Have used this site for a fair bit of research and found it to be so much better than the expat sites I was using in Amsterdam and Canada.

This site really is useful for all newcomers and I am sure will be when I get there fulltime as well.

Baron you are right, more thread and comments helps all. Look forward to meeting you guys soon.

In answer to Barons plea, i'd like to suggest an event called 'GeoCulturalXP'

What this would involve is everyone meetin up and then going on a 'national' themed tour of reputable drinking establishments - having a drink from each country of every member of the group in order....

So if there were contingents from the Uk, Ireland, Us, Aust, Japan, Thailand - the drinks would be for example, Some kinda ale (boddingtons or something), somekinda stout (i.e. Guiness, Beamish etc), an american beer (bud, coors etc), er, Saki or Asahi, Chang beer etc. Obviously it wouldnt be limited to beer, but they are most obvious examples. Im not so good on spirits, but uk-gin, italy-sambucca, etc...

why doesn't somebody organize a international pub crawl. Where you go to different places that serve different international beers. Angiebaby8080 seems good at organizing events why doesn't somebody ask her to do it.

Because it's a bit much asking her to do EVERY event here. There must be others here good at organizing get-togethers?

...and yeah, organising hook-ups are as simple as a-b-c so anyone can do it...if i wasn't a full-time legal secretary then definitely, i would have have organised hook-ups everyday and every night...
