| Sponsor for the family? I am relocating to HK from Sweden and was advised by the CN embassy here in Stockholm to apply for the visa locally, because they did not know how to apply for working permit in KH... Anyway, our local company in HK has "helped" me in providing the ID936 application for me to fill out. Now after 4 weeks of waiting the local company tells me my application is OK but my wife and my 5 months old daughter needs to fill it out as well due to the fact that I am their sponsor. My question is: is it not generally so that the company is the sponsor for the expat including his/her family? The whole process seems to be very complicated.. Grateful for feedback/views on this...also supporting comments as I am very frustrated by all the paperwork... Thanks |

| They are correct - your family should apply for Dependent Visas, and the person they are dependent on is you. I guess you haven't worked abroad before... HK paperwork is very straightforward compared to many other places. |
