Wall hangings Hi all, We've just moved into a new rented apartment and have brought some paintings over from the UK with us. Does anyone know if its ok to hang pictures on the walls - we would have to put some nails in..? Thanks

Errrr...shouldn't you ask this question to your landlord instead? I would think most reasonable owners wouldn't have a problem with a little decorating and few holes in the wall, but you never know...

Our contract explicitly says not to put anything on the walls so I dutifully contacted the landlord who I reckon thought I was nuts for asking. Anyway she said go ahead just remove the fixtures and fill the holes when you go. As the walls are concrete we use those little 3m plastic hooks that have 3 little nails in them and they are not coming off in a hurry. They are what she recommended.

I've rented numerous places here and all landlords have been fine with my banging in nails for pictures and shelves. Ofcourse it would be common courtesy to ask first.
