Newbie says hi to the Geoexpat Peeps....

Hello,

I moved to Hong Kong around 3 weeks ago, so am just about settled in. Of course like any big move have the usual jitters and nerves....

So would like to make some friends, and this forum looked nice and friendly.....

I am 30, and have lived in London all my life. Work brings me to Hong Kong, I am an Oracle developer so a bit of an IT geek unfortunately. I am married and my wife works in Hong Kong too. We live ontop of Pacific Place, in admirality and will be in HK for two years.

I am of Indian/Pakistani decsent and am looking for a place to buy Bollywood DVDs (anyone?).......

I am massively into cars. I like all sorts of movies, into worldwide cuisine, but my favourite is definately CURRY (the best naturally! ).

I also am looking to start playing tennis again, so if there are any tennis buddies out there, then give me a shout.

I love Hip Hop and have been to a few clubs in Hong Kong and am loving the vibe.

OK look forward to talking to some of you guys and even meeting some for some

Tried any Indian restaurants since you have been here?? I'd recommend Bombay Dreams in Central & Viceroy isn't too bad either.

The only good thing is that I get to see her again in 3 months

Welcome Nutta, hope you like HK as i'm sure you will. Make sure you and your wife come along to the next get-together and meet some of us. Once you get to know a few peeps here, it will make it so much easier...in most cases!

Thanks man..... I was mulling over coming to this dinner on Wednesday, but it looks pretty busy. I intend on coming to the next meet. Work is pretty intense, but weekends are a great time to let your hair down!

On the subject of cars I too have given mine up, and has got me thinking.......is there anywhere in HK where you can hire some decent wheels for the weekend? Im not talking about Avis, but something more upmarket? Also would be interested in going go-karting if any socials are planned around that idea.

Fantasic place huh..! Other favs include;
1. mirch masala (quite new, but hot on the heels of giftos)
2. Lahore kebab house, whitechapel (without doubt the best kebabs in London)
3. Soho Spice (wicked central london indian restaurant)
4. Tayyabs, whitechapel (best lamb chops in london)

Where would I get Indian spices from?
