Driving from Bel Air, how do I get to Baguio Villas supermarket? Tried to go through Information Crescent road but was not successful. Thanks!

does anyone on this forum have any experiance of living/staying there ?? I will definately have a look when over next week. I think we have dismissed Cyberport as the transport would drive us mad. I know the transport in london is not great !! but a bus every 30 mins is far from ideal.....
Take a look. Many people love it, others don't find it their cup of tea ("fortress", too big, 'gweilos in the mist' (allusion to fog), too many MB, BMW, Lexus, etc in parking lots, expat ghetto, etc....... ). There must be close to 1000 apts in those 15 towers and while you get the not inconsiderable benefit of having so much company at call, and the economies of scale (frequent shuttle buses, large PnS supermarket, school buses terminal/start point, etc etc etc), the remarkable thing about the design is that day to day you hardly feel you're living amidst so many people.

I moved in there when I arrived in HK nearly 8 years ago, and three apt moves later, all within Parkview, I'm still there. PM me if you need more info. BTW, Parkview has both Parkview-owned and individual landlord-owned apts. I've lived in both kinds. In general, the former gives you much greater peace of mind re maintenance and repairs and standard of upkeep than the luck of the draw you run with the latter (specially if the LL is an investor, in it for the short haul).

Drive up Cyberport Road to Victoria Road (not in the direction of Scenic Villas.. but in the direction towards Aberdeen). Turn left and keep driving till you pass the Shell station... once you pass it, turn left again towards lower Bagiou.

Easier to walk up the flight of steps and have them deliver the stuff to your doorstep.

Just moved to HK and did Bel Air / Belchers / HV and settled on Conduit Rd Mid levels. If it is just the two of you, you can find a great place in Mid levels, close to all the action for 30-35K and pocket the $30K per month for extra happy hour drinks!

Hi Tulip,

we are a couple with two kids and just returned to Europe from a Hong Kong visit as we consider moving next quarter to HK.

We also visited the Bel-Air towers.
If you don't mind we have some questions on this premises as we are strongly considering moving to this estate.

How is it to live with children (5 ys / 1 y) there?
How far would it take for our child to the Peak (Swiss German school) ?
We learned that they have a shuttle service to Sheung Wan station - how far from there to Star Ferry Pier (Central to Tsim Sha Tsui) ?
They just showed us 3 Bedroom appartmenta for +/-
35-36THK$
Are there any 4-5 Bedroom appartments?
Are there any common storage rooms?

Is the low floor zone differnt in price - having kids we do not want to live above 10th floor.

Are any wet markets in reach?

What is your experience in general?

Great thanks in advance for your reply and thus great help.

Rgds.

Hoyi

Hi Hoyi,

I hope my reply is not coming in too late ... sorry about that! Generally speaking, this place is great. More pros than cons. Here are the answers:

How is it to live with children (5 ys / 1 y) there? Kids simply love it. The club house is fantastic. Also, there's lots of open space.

How far would it take for our child to the Peak (Swiss German school)? If you drive, it's about 20-25 mins. I know there's a school bus but have no idea how long it takes ... might be around 40 mins. I've been told pick up is early though. I can check with my friend if you need more info, her son takes the school bus.

We learned that they have a shuttle service to Sheung Wan station - how far from there to Star Ferry Pier (Central to Tsim Sha Tsui)? By taxi, 5 mins from S. Wan to Central. From Central to TST by ferry, about 15 mins. Alternatively, you can do Sheung Wan - TST by MTR.

They just showed us 3 Bedroom appartmenta for +/- 35-36THK$
Are there any 4-5 Bedroom appartments? Not sure. Estate agents might tell you. However, there are different sizes for 3 bedroom appts ranging from abt 1100 to 1680 sq ft.
Are there any common storage rooms? No

Is the low floor zone differnt in price - having kids we do not want to live above 10th floor. The higher, the more expensive.

Are any wet markets in reach? Aberdeen market. 10 mins if driving. Direct bus: 20 mins.

What is your experience in general? I don't feel I'm in overcrowded HK!

You can pm me your email address if you need further info. When are you planning to move to HK? We could meet up also when you arrive.

We'll be in Phase 3 August 10. Someone please illuminate shuttle options in Phase 3.

1) Do we have to take a shuttle to phase 1 in order to take a shuttle to central? i.e. no direct suttle services at phase 3 ( believe me, we wanted phase 1 and 2 but no availability)

2)What about bus stops in front of phase 3? Wife needs 69 mini to hop to Quarry Bay.

Livermore: I'm moving to Phase 3 next week! Glad to hear more people are moving there.

Here's my understanding about the shuttles. No direct shuttles to Sheung Wan (doesn't go to Central) from Phase 3 but you'll have to connect using the shuttle that goes to Phase 1/2. I'm discovering more and more that this can be very inconvenient, especially since I have to leave very early in the morning. The first shuttle to Sheung Wan leaves from Phase 1/2 at 7 am, which would be ideal for me but the connecting shuttle from phase 3 only leaves at 7:15 at the earliest! As such, I can only take the 7:30 shuttle to Shueng Wan unless I take a taxi every day! I was told that eventually, when more people move in, there will be a direct shuttle from Phase 3, but I honestly don't expect that to happen for the next 6 months, if not a year.

There is no bus stop per se in front of phase 3 either. You can walk up the hill and turn right to the bus stop there. However, the minibuses stop everywhere they can. There are no set stops so you should be able to just wave one down in front of the Phase 3 entrance.

Hope this helps.
