Martial arts/self defence for beginner girls?? Can anyone recommend anywhere in HK to take self-defence classes? I am interested in starting some kind of martial arts style lessons but am a total beginner. Any ideas??

I would reccommend boxing at DEF (www.def.com.hk) There are lots of girls who go there and it is not at all intimidating for beginners. Best of all though is that is great fun. Last edited by maddogmerrick; 12-10-2005 at 11:08 AM.

Most classes are taught in Cantonese only. Some forms of self defence are very strenuous with a view to building up your muscles and stamina. Others concentrate of close hand-to-hand techniques like Wing Chun. Some will require throwing like Judo and Aikido. What are you looking for?
