Thanks for the advice Db.

What i think I'll do is forgo the multi-user 3M plan and just get the 6M single user plan. I still have a a problem because the living room does not have one telephone socket which is very odd. The room where the computer is, however, does.

So, I'll have to have the ADSL modem in that room and could I run a wireless router to the NOW Broadband box in the living room?

Sorry but you can't do that RM. The NOW decoder has to be plugged directly into one of the ADSL's ports. I have already had this discussion with technical support.
Your living room may have been re-decorated and the telephone socket covered over. PCCW should be able to tell you.

RecentlyMoved,

If you look at the package pricing you will see that the incremental cost of your broadband access above what you pay for NOW TV is negligible (in my case it was exactly HK$1 per month, but the packages are changing all the time) so it's pretty good value. Essentially NOW runs over your DSL line - that's the essence of how it works. Personally I think getting that much data down a pair of thin copper wires laid originally to cope with about 15kbit/s of voice is quite amazing.

If you want 6MB broadband while watching the TV (I can't imagine what for, except theft of videos etc.) then I guess you need to pay for two separate DSL lines, and hope that your building has the internal wiring to cope with it.

I have NOW braodband in a room and also have 2 NOW boradband TV outlets. Here's how it worked for me:

1. bought a single package for the internet 6mbps which came with 4 free channels on NOW TV. I think it was just below $200 per month.
2. I then wanted another NOW TV in my bedroom so bought another package for the TV only. It was something like buy minimum 10 channels for $150 per mth and get another 10 channels free (this way I practically got all english language channels)

Now the wiring:

I was also worried that I did not want trails of cables from one room to the other. I was relieved to find that as long as you have telephone sockets in each room and they are all inter-connected it is not a problem. SO I have the broadband internet in my little office with the modem sitting in there and next door they have put in the NOW TV decoder box. I was expecting a tral of wires.

Not sure if this helps.

Btw, I do have the mobile number of the kid who was selling the packages on the street and he was pretty good even for chasing up installations etc.

Hey Katanga, sound slike a great setup. Prices look good too. I joined PCCW last year and pay $194 for netvigator broadband and $135 for NOW tv. I had to sign up for 12 months to get these channels:
hallmark, hbo, star movies, discovery showcase (animal planet, science, real time, travel and living, home and health), bbc prime, fashion tv, disney, playhouse disney and the free channels.
So, one room has the ADSL modem to feed the NOW decoder and your computer and another room has the second ADSL modem to feed your second NOW decoder right?
