| Mandarin-speaking Canadian looking for work Hello, I am a Canadian woman in my mid-30s. I worked in HK as a lawyer/business development manager from 1994-97. Following that, I decided to develop my creative side. I went back to Canada, trained in multimedia and have been a web and graphic designer for the past 7 years. Recently I've started doing some consulting work for Canadian companies doing business in Asia. But what I'd really like to do is get a full-time job in either HK or mainland China because I miss life in Asia. I've kept up my Mandarin (spoken and written) since I left but I'm not sure what my chances for finding a job would be, given that I've been out of the legal and business field for a while. I don't necessarily want to practice law again; I'd just like to use my Mandarin, negotiation skills and understanding of PRC business practices. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks, Jennifer |
