Smile looking for jobs in hk

hi! can anyone help me out in finding a job in hk? i'm 25 and i finished mass communications. i've been able to work for an events and management company as well as tried working with a manufacturing/export company (fashion accessories) here in phils. i was a marketing/communications/customer service officer (too many responsibilities-- a product of multi-tasking). i'm also open to other fields like in the hotel industry. so, if you have any inputs or suggestions please leave me a note.

thanks a lot!
nonie

Hi nonie,

I am also a fellow HK job seeker, all I can say is sort out your resume, and get emailing it out to heaps of companies who you want to work for...and also a good job site is www.classifiedpost.com.hk...but I have been here for a few weeks and no job yet...so good luck!

hi nonie... im filipino too, and i'm just a year older than you. i got my job by networking with people i know in HK. then i sent my resume specifically to people who could help me. the good thing was a friend of mine (we went to the same university) sent me a job opening their company had. i then went to HK for the interview, on my own expense. i think it helps if you're able to go to HK. now, im just waiting for my work visa. if you know people in the industry where you want to work in HK--- send them your resumes and let them know you're looking for a job. good luck!

hi princess and jan! thanks for the inputs.

princess, i will look into that site in a while. good luck to both of us!

jan, from all the resumes i sent in jobsdb-hk... i got 1 response asking me how will they conduct their interview since i'm still here in phils. i know i have to shoulder the expenses in getting there just to get interviewed and i'm cool with that. i've been there last year and this year month of june to attend a trade fair in hk exhibition and convention center. so, where are you working now?

i'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that all will end well... thanks guys!

i'll be working for an international consulting firm. Yes, if you can go to HK then go... but don't just go for one interview, unless you are 90% sure you'll do well. in my case, i went to HK even if i only had an interview with my company, bec i knew that they were having a difficult time looking for someone to fill the position. that's why i was sort of confident that everything would work out. half the battle is finding the job, the other half is ensuring that the company is willing to sponsor your work visa. what's the point of being offered the job, when your employer won't sponsor you...

good luck!
