Baron is an unknown quantity at this point.
I flew with them a few years back and found them to be good enough, def no worse than a lot of others out there. I think they have a fairly good record so you'll be right. The food was a plenty anyway!

u can go to airdisaster.com and check out their full safety record. Overall, they are a decent carrier- much better than some, but dont expect a Cathay-like experience

Always keep in mind- Any airline flying into Europe, the US, or Canada MUST maintain the level of service/safety that applies to those countries. So basically- dont worry.

Hi Alone,
I have flown on PAL over a dozen times and have never had a problem. It has always been a pleasure actually. The Vancouver bound flight allows a free stopover in Manila as well on your way to Van if possible. Makati is the business/shopping district, including Greenbelt, a shopping mall complex that looks more like a botanical garden, with a spanish style plaza lined with bars and cafe's. It has a very cosmopolitan look and feel to it. You can get any kind of food you like, and the nightlife is great. Malate(pronounced malatay) is a bohemian night-life area that you might want to check out too. There are countless other places if you care to explore. Once again, I have NEVER had any safety problems. At the same time, I wouldn't go wandering around back alleys at night, like anywhere else.
Don't listen the crap you hear about the dangers of the Philippines. Just about everyone speaks English, people are extremely hospitable and friendly, and it's excellent value for money. But, like Thailand for example, you should always try to get a meter-taxi or negotiate the price.

If you ask me, PAL is waaaaay better than Cathay!!! I've been flying Cathay most of the time and darn it... they only serve one kind of food!!!! And it's a sandwich, even!!!! But for PAL, you even get to choose!!! And it's cheaper!!! And the landing's smoother. Although, I love Cathay's entertainment!
