Unhappy Disaster Strikes

My headphones have broken - one of the earpieces keeps fading in and out - clearly a case of a loose wire...

For once, i actually had headphones i liked, all the more surprising as they came with my MP3 player (not an inferior I-Pod i hasten to add).

Like with smoking, where there is nothing worse than having cigarettes but no lighter, having the player but no headphones is truely upsetting.

Does anyone know where i can get some new decent ones?

Have you tried the electronics chain stores like Fortress, Broadway, GOME, CITICALL, etc...? They usually have a good selection of headphones at competitive prices.

Other than that, you might want to try HMV or Tom Lee.

While we are on the subject of headphones...

Does anyone know where I could purchase some new tips for my Shure e4s? I need either the Shure yellow foamies or the Etymotic medium grey ones.

Most CD shops like HMV, Hong Kong Records and CD Warehouse sell earphones/headphones.

Anyhow, I suggest you try "Fortress" or one of those stores in Golden Arcade.

Mong Kok:

Shing Yau Building ( 誠友 ) (MTR exit E2 - Body Shop is on the ground floor of this building). There are many shops here. I can't remember which one is best. Try floors 6,8,10, and 14 (I think).

Tak Fat Building (德發 ) corner of Nelson and Tung Choi St (Ladies market Street). Head downstairs from Nelson street. Stax can be found here!

Kingsound 1217 Golden Era Plaza ( 金鷄 ) on Sai Yee St near Nelson St. http://www.headphonehk.com/

If you are on the island, you could take a look in Windsor House (I think they call it Windsor on the Square) Causeway Bay, Great George Street.

Hope this helps

Kingsound opens late (2pm) as does most of the Tak Fat basement stores (shure and ety be here too). I'm pretty certain the Shing Yau Building shops open earlier and I've seen etymotics and shures in there also. I wish I could remember the exact floors.
