Working (or not) on a dependent visa

I know that legally your not allowed to work on a dependent visa, but do people do the cash-in-hand dont tell the government thing in HK?
If not whats a girls supposed to do if she cant get a job?? sit at home, do her nails and make sure dinner is on the table at 6pm???? How many others are in this position?

Baron is an unknown quantity at this point.
I'm sure there are plenty of people that do it claredy, but it is a risk if found out. Take for instance that your boyfriend/husband starts his new possition here, and then a couple of months later you get found out for doing cash in hand work. You would be told to return home, and your partner would have to stay or quit, either one not too great. So it is a big, big risk to take.

If you get a work visa, does it have to be full time? or can it be for part time casual work?

dont stress out about it. you wont be on a hit list or anything. just make sure you live the country every 3 months. Take a one day "business" trip to Shenzen. Many people do that! And you WONT get monitored. You have foreign passport, right!!!

Hey! How did you find a job finally? I mean, did you keep applying through the internet or did you see some recruiters or contacts? I have been out-of-work since last 1 yr. and want to find a job here soon. Can you share your job search experience?

Thank You!
