how much would a 3 bedroom apartment be in tai po? i have been given a choice of whether i want to accept an expat package which will include housing rental, relocation expenses etc or a local package which doesn't include all the fancy bits but pays a higher salary...which would you guys take?

It depends on where you want to live. Tai po is not small. The rents vary a lot.

I rent a two bedroom place just outside of Tai Po near Ting Kok Village for about $5200/mth, I wouldn't think a three bedroom would be much more.

i am out side t. p in tung tsz and i pay 5000 for a 3 bed room, roof inclusive! may depen on who you know though

any idea how much an entire house is going for out that way? i mean a village house, 3 floors, with a garden, usually around 2100'??

Varies a lot according to area and more so on condition of the block.

If its brand new with a nice location your looking at 18k min. One floor for a new flat ranges from 5-7k I would say. If you want something cheaper then I guess something a bit older but chances of finding a whole block empty r slim unless its EVIL! hehe

Tai Po has a very wide range with cheap 3.5k housing to tens of thousands a month.
