Disneyland - What do you think?

I managed to get a day off work last week and had a thoroughly enjoyable time at HK Disneyland. I think Disneyland is absolutely brilliant and does not deserve so much bad publicity it has received such as poor mobile phone coverage, big crowds, lack of parking spaces and long queues etc.

Right from the outset the Disney experience was great. The train service to Disney really is 1st class and gets you in the mood for a fun day out. The entrance tickets are reasonably priced at HK$300 for adults (weekends & public holidays HK$350).

The rides were all great fun and suitable for children and adults. Disney was incredibly clean and I managed to go all day without seeing anyone smoking a cigarette, people spitting or any litter on the floor.

One of the biggest complaints I keep hearing about Disney is that it is too small. I agree it is a tad on the small size but it is definitely big enough to keep you entertained for a whole day.

You must stay for the fireworks display which is at 8pm, I have never seen anything like it!

If you have been to Disney, what did you think of it?

(I would avoid going any time this week during China's week long national holiday though - Oct 1 to Oct 7)

I went on every single ride at Disney. Went on the Buzz Lightyear ride and the 3D cinema thing twice each. The queues for all the rides were only around 10 minutes.

The biggest queue was having your photograph taken with Mickey and Minnie!

Bear in mind I went on a Friday afternoon.

I had friends staying and last Monday they went to Disneyland and came back reporting a similar good experience. They had a great time being kids again, no waiting for the rides, got pics with all the characters, $900 total for tickets, food and souvenirs for 2 and they thought the food was really reasonable. Good shelter for the few showers they had, the rides were fun but not scary, the place was super clean, the staff super friendly and although not that big they were occupied for a full day. They left here to go to Japan and planned to head to Disneyland there too so it will be interesting to hear what they thought as a comparison. Thier review made me rethink my ideas on a visit but it would have to be on a weekday.

I went to Disneyland in Japan at Easter and the queuing time for Buzz was 3 hours every time we checked. By nightfall it was time for the parade so we didn't get to see Buzz at all. Same problem for Winnie the Pooh.
I'm hoping that when we eventually go to HK's Disneyland we only have to queue 10 minutes too.

And I forget
Just what it takes
And yet I guess it makes me smile
I found it hard
Its hard to find
Oh well, whatever, nevermind

Here we are now
Entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now
Entertain us
