Working VISA for my g/f

I am relocating to HK January with my current employer from London. They are sorting my VISA and relocation etc but are not providing a VISA for my girlfriend who works in sales marketing. They indicated she should enter on a tourist VISA and try and find a job when she gets here.

Apart from the normal effort of finding a job how hard is it to get a working VISA for HK? i.e. if she is highly skilled and can find a job how hard is it to get the compnay to sponsor her with a working VISA?

Alternatively is there such a thing as a dependents VISA she could get with me providing financial support etc?

Thanks.

Dependant visa is only available if you are married. Your girlfriend will have to come on a tourist visa (180 days with UK passport) and try and find work and a company to sponser her here. To do that the employer has to prove that her job cannot be performed by a local, and unfortunately Sales and Marketing jobs are one of those mentioned as being highly catered for by locals in the market, so she would have to show a particluar skill or perhaps consider a slight change of career where she is able to use her talents.

Sorry, no. Get her to contact a bunch of head hunters ASAP. Don't wait until you get here. Getting a working visa together with a sponsor is still a quite lengthy process.

Good Luck!

btw, I was in the same situation and it worked out okay for us - but it took three months... My girlfriend did develop a nasty Yoga during daylight & Lai Kwai Fong during nighttime habit during that period that wasn't really comparable with my working hours...

There are so many similar cases. My friend is in Australia now. Any good head hunters recommended?
