Where is the best place in Central to get small appliances? I especially need an iron (got to HK yesterday, start work tomorrow and need to freshen up my clothes a little after transit). This is a great forum for newcomers - I've gotten a lot of good advice! Thanks, contributors!

I would say somewhere like Fortress for things like an iron, kettle etc.

Thanks! I thought they only had big appliances, computers, cameras, etc...I asked the front-desk lady at my serviced apt. and she said, "WHY?" like, "you don't actually intend to do your own laundry?!?!"

You could also try WingOn in Central. You probably should do your laundry outside i.e. just give it to your local Chinese laundry. Shirts etc by the piece, rest by the weight.

Wing On is what you need or if you can handle a visit to Wan Chai or Causeway Bay head to Pricerite. If you go to Wing On the irrons are in the appliance ara on the ground floor but accross the hall from the cosmetics, all the other household stuff is downstairs fromt he cosmetics counters. Other places for good household stuff are the Jpan Homes Stores and the other similar stores that cluster right by JHS. Check out Wellington Street in Central or Queens Road in Sheung Wan.
